Hiya...

An update...this is one of the characters that will be on my reel in a very short animation. I'm going for a "I'm pissed and getting ready to rip your head off look"... I used max and illustrate for this image.

What do you think?

Well, he looks pretty nifty, like the style... but he's just not saying PISSED to me yet. He's just kinda.. staring off into space.

edit: note it looks fuzzy, kind of out of focus, make sure you know whats up with that, if its picture compression or the 3d program

thats what i'm talkin bout. he's either really pissed, or he's singing some opera music. just kiddin... great job.. when will we see an animation??

I'm still working on the story board. I put a reel out there about a year ago after taking a few months of a Max course and didn't realize how much it sucked until I went to Siggraph in L.A. and got a look at some pros.

I want to do this one right so it'll be a few more months. I'll definitely add some links to animation tests if you guys are interested.

This is the one that's gettin' daddy a job!!! CAN YA FEeL ME!?

if you lower his eyebrows it would help the pissed look a lot ;)

Nice picture :)

But in that second one he still is not saying Pissed to me, he is more like wanting to give me a big hug :)

come give us a big hug! yeah, he needs more OOMPH!! Bring down the eyebrows like said before and perhaps raise the area below the eyes in a snarly GRRR fashion. Make him squint in her fury. then make his leg pointlessly aim backwards at all times while the other functions normally. People love that in demo reels, trust me. :D

Okay...I get the picture...you guys are cracking me up with the hugging and big friendly monster comments.

I'll work on the face a bit more and see if I can get the "pissed" look right before posting again.

Maybe re-chain him in the second pose so it looks like he's trying to break free.
