hello,

i was trying to compile a renderman shader, for RFM 2.0 eval version, in a text editor - saved with a .sl extension.

for some weird reason when i go to the command prompt and try to compile it there i get
the following error:

ERROR: Cannot find preprocessor for shader file filename

can someone help me as to the nature of the problem and help me resolve it? it has been
driving me nuts.

any help will be much appreciated!

thanks! :)

cheers,
SD

it's because you need to point in shader.exe, the files you added in your rsl code. and put them in the same directory to compile your shader.

ahh...i see. so if i put the shader file say "myShader.sl" in the same directory as the shader.exe and then compile, it should work...right?

i have already set the environment variables correctly.

thanks! :)
