Hi fellas, i need some general advice frm all u pros out there, im startin my project in maya, in a nutshell its based on "sleepy hollow", im tryin to achieve similar ambient environments, that typical dull gray feel, fog, mist and those crooked leaf ridden trees. need some suggestions:-

1. I need to animate a leaf flying around, m using simple opac map technique on a poly plane, then shud i make it a cloth? or shall i use nonlinear deformers to make the leaf bend realistically?
2. i also need to animate a bunch of dry leaves moving randomly , should i go for particle instancing?
3.I am tryin to achieve a "film look" ill probably worry about it during compositing, for now i was thinking abt using a panavision 70mm filmgate, but im not gettin those black bands...damnit!!
4. some cinematography tips, any links?
thx in advance :scream:

To Questions 1 and 2...you have to try it yourself, whatever works better for you...Particles instance is a good idea, but you have to try it first with normal key frame animation.

For 3...don't worry now about that. Set your render globals to the Aspect Ratio you want. The black bands you talk...Called Letter Box...you can put them later in compositing

For 4...don't have any links for you...sorry:D
