Hello, I've been rigging a model with a large chain and medallion around his neck in Max 8, however I've been running into trouble. I attempted to rig it the way I do cloth: Spline IK for bones with a line as its control and I just move the vertices and the bones follow, then skin the mesh to it appropriately. I attempted to make an incomplete ring of bones and it worked decently, except for the end of the bone chain would slide down the line (causing the chain model to disconnect as well) when I tested animating the medallion bouncing off his chest as he moved.

All other attempts I've made, such as two mirrored bone chains converging at the medallion all had problems where the chain links would disconnect from the medallion if it (or the bone cotrolling it) rotated, something that didn't happen with the previous method.

I'd like to request if someone could explain to me a method of constraining the end of the SplineIK picked shape so the bones don't slide, or even better, if anyone has a more efficient method I would sincerely appreciate it. In Maya I know of a method to apply clusters to vertices on a spline and then control them with dummy objects, but I don't know a similar method in Max. In this case, I cannot use dynamics, which I don't know how to anyway, because this is designed for looping animations and I know of no way to control the last frame of the dynamic animation so it loops.

I would greatly appreciate any ideas.
