Title: Mobile Refinery & "Space Tanker"
Name: Jan Major
Country: Canada
Software: 3ds max, Photoshop

A Mobile Refinery Spacecraft model built to go with my Asteroid Harvester model. The general idea, is that the Refinery moves along the outskirts of an asteroid belt, and sends clouds of small Asteroid Harvesters into the belt to retrieve minerals for processing. Working on an animation utilizing the models in conjunction. Built in 3D Studio Max, textured in Photoshop. This model is also in my Showreel.

Look very nice. I like the style actually. Reminds me a little of "Homeworld" games. Except your textureworks pleases more my eye.

too lazy to place some stars in the background :) ?
you have a nice sence of detail and textures, like it.

i think they give you ** because of the missing background.
here are many pictures with only "one" object, but multiplied it into the depht.

Nice model and textures, I like the details. I agree about the background, but it's still great.

...that the modeling and texturing is simply wonderful here! I didn't even notice the lack of background, it's so nice to look at anyway. Can't wait to see the animation, keep at it!

Yea, in regards to the background... this pic was really only intended to show the model, because I am setting up a full animation / environment for it at a later stage... Thanks for all your comments though :)

Yeah, looks very Homeworldy. Love it. Lots of depth and character... If machines can have character. Great job.
