I'm looking for some c&c on the reel and work in the reel. I've received some great feedback from the xsi community, but I'd like to hear from a more general TD audience.

Thanks for looking!

I know I titled it "Modeling and Rigging", but that will be changed to "Character TD".

Woah, 4:40 of greatness

I really like the multi-layered controls and the Shoulder Rig.

The "Multiple Nulls on a Spline" approch gives some really nice deformations as well as ultimate control of the shapes of the body :)

Got to watch it again :surprised

Hey Matt! Wow!
You've really come along. XSI has done you well!
I love the rig elements, only comment is that the presentation of the interface elements doesn't come across as snazy and animator-oriented as I think they might.

The selection panels seem very out-of-the box. Maybe not an issue if you know where you're sending the reel. What I mean is the creation of a dedicated interface panel (I think via xml in xsi) that "packages the handle selection process for the animator.

Very interesting shoulder stuff. I know how tricky that is.

Thanks Eric and David! The shoulder is built with multi-layered controls in mind. So far so good. My next layer is a full body resculpt; on the fly deformations for the animator.

David, Yes! good point, I need to get an interface built. My next goal.

Thanks!

very cool stuff, the layered controls work really well!

i'd like to see these things on a more cartoony character :)

in the curve controls for the limbs, can you also go in and move the individual segments? that could be another layer of control that probably wouldn't even cost more performance

Aeron, Yes! each element on the curve can be manipulated with standard SRT; in addition to all the curve controls. All layered.

that's what i thought, good work!

i don't remember a 100%, but if you didn't show that in the reel i think you should
