View Full Version : 3D: F-117 stealth (lo-poly)
jussing 03-30-2003, 04:10 PM Hey all!
With no conscious connection to "you know", I've decided to start modelling the F-117 stealth bomber in 3D Studio Max.
-Propably beacuse the design is so polygon-friendly! ;)
The aim is to make an efficient lo-poly model, suitable for a game. -Contrary to standard game modelling, though, I'm in the mood for playing with lots of textures, so I plan on fitting it with hi-res specular, bump, etc...
Here's the first round of vertex-nudging.
Cheers,
- Jonas
PS.: Next week is Night Film Festival (http://www.natfilm.dk/) in Copenhagen, so don't expect major updates... ;-)

The mesh is finished!!
Here's some shots. The strange object next to the F-117 is the cockpit, which I want to be visible through the glass.... I wonder how that will turn out! ;)
Anyway, next up is texturing...!

It looks like a good model, the f117 is a very triangular plane so it is a good choice to model for low poly, i would make the texture more dark so it is similar to the ones we usually see, but this is up to you
Good progress

Hey, thanks! :)
You're right, it's very light compared to the ones we usually see, but that's mostly so I can see what I'm working with. -The final levels will be adjusted in the lighting in the final scene. :)
(on a side-note I wanna add that in the reference photos I've got the F-117 paint scheme changes from black to gray to blue to brown, and Godknowswhat, from picture to picture... :surprised )
But you're absolutely right, it should be darker than this.
Cheers, and thanks for the comment!
