View Full Version : bones not deforming with blend shapes...
Elliotjnewman 03-30-2003, 10:28 AM I have made a few blend shapes on my model and also have a simple rig for deformation. However when I move the blend shape slider I cant seem to be able to move the bones to deform the model, or when I move the bones with none of the blend shapes on and then I shift a blend shape slider it causes the model to 'slide' back into its original position. - I dont know if this is because the model has other grouped objects connected to it...
Anyone know how to fix this?

Hey man
This is just a simple heirchy fix of your history.
Your blendshape Node is after your bindskin node.
You want the blendshape node before the skin node so the blend deformation happens first, then the deformation from moving the bones happens after.
To do this, right click on the mesh, inputs, complete list.
Then middle drag the blendshape1 ontop of the bindskin node.
It should drop underneith.
That should do it

Thanks Rudity thats sorted me out! I have just had to make a change to the blend shapes, the eyes- for this I changed one set of eyes, duplicated and then stitched them to all the other blend shapes, but when I create the blend shape my model screws up into a ball of mess! I'm guessing this iss because I have changed the related points order? all the models have the same count, is there a way to reset the numbering of the points?

Oh well I have just read a previous post about this and it goes on to say that I will nedd to download a 're-arrange points' plug-in from high-end3d - I cant be bothered with the hassle so I aamm going too create my blend shapes again.
