i've watch it over and over again. yeah, i do think that it should follows the bass when it twist the body and land on the ground.

I can't quite work out if it was intentional that bits of the animation seem a little astray of the beats .. but what the hell.. this has got INSTANT CLASSIC stamped all over it anyways.. a hoot! :)
