Title: Daria
Name: Paul Zanna
Country: Australia
Software: Photoshop, XSI, ZBrush

This is my latest work, continuing with a fashion / cosmetics theme. The modelling was done in Zbrush 3, the new subtools feature is great for placing eyes and getting the shape right. Base textures were also done in Zbrush, with a bit of help from Photoshop. All the Zbrush subtools were then brought together in XSI where SSS was added to the skin and eyes. A very basic light rig was also added, the reflection in the eyes is actually just a white disc object, not a real light. Rendering was done with the integrated Mental Ray renderer into 6 seperate passes - Diffuse, Reflection, Refractions, Spec, Ambient Occlusion and Zdepth. Compositing, colour correction and some minor tweaking was done in Photoshop. Hope you like it and see if you can guess who the super model its based on is.

All your shapes are a little funny looking. The ears look like the insides are too tall? does that make sense?

The eyes are a little 'too' rounded, but your hair is really great. I think the lips are too large, but not sure.

Your girl looks a little like a guy in drag, sorry.

...disagree more with the previous poster.

I think "she" looks very feminine. Often, the differences between men and women are trivial, and something like the lips can be whatever you want it to be. Everyone looks different, and I don't believe every woman and man should look just like the generic Poser props. Every person has different ears, nose, etc. And many combinations work just fine, in real life!

My only critique is the lighting. Around the nose's edge especially, the black line stands out saying, "poor GI" or whatever. No big deal, just thought I'd point that out! She looks pretty, good work.

Thanks for the comments. I hadn't noticed the shadows around the nostrils, your right - thanks for pointing that out, it may be to much AO in that area.

kwills2567 - can you be more specific about why you think it looks like a guy? I can't see it, but I'm a little bias - is it the shape of the face, nose, the eyes, maybe too much eye makeup ?? I know its sometimes hard to put a finger on it, but any help would be appreciated.

Thanks again for the feedback.
