Well, here is my new demo reel. I hope it is up to par. Although I have tried my best to be as unbiased as possible with comparing my work to other peoples', I will need your crits and comments to be sure.

I'm well versed with Maya, I chose Blender to be the renderer of the models in this reel. I also used Blender for the video editing, as well as Virtual Dub. The music was created by Pierre Martin, and it is a remix of the music from an old arcade game.

your reel is pretty good. On the first model you say modelling, texturing, AND animation but there was no animation involved. Looks like you have some good geometry on your chracters but it would be better if you took them out of the T pose and made them more interesting to look at. I would drop the music because it really doesn't fit what your trying to show and i would also drop the last drawing because it kind of leaves you feeling like what was that in there for? I liked what you did with the environment that was good just need to show off your models a little better. Good luck job hunting.

well the models did seem good, except the posing was boring.. but what do i know... the music also was kinda strange.. i would leave it out or change it... great stuff btw

Thanks, I'm keeping the music for now. I did update a couple of things though. I removed "animation" from the details of the Toki model. I also changed the phone number from the line to my cell. I would prefer no one calls me on the phone line I use for internet. (In case you're wondering, I don't even bother trying to upload the 13mb video at home. I used the DSL at work)

I now have to focus on establishing a reliable mode of transportation. Currently I ride the bus, but this causes me to either be too early or too late. The bus system also takes away an hour or two that I could have spent being productive... every day. It also makes sure that I am unable to do much of anything on the weekend - thanks to a castrated weekend bus schedual that ends all of the routes before 6pm.

I intend to get a street legal scooter, and save up about a thousand or so more for flight costs before I start seriously looking for work. Until then, I'll just keep doing what I've been doing, improving the reel, practicing, etc.

I agree with the music being Bizarre. To be honest, it kinda bugged me out while I was watching your reel.

I'll boot it out the next rendition then. I have a bazzare taste in music. Basically I like 80s music, video game music, Anime music, and a few current rock bands. =P I shouldn't force my tastes upon someone else. I'll probably replace it with some public domain Jazz or something.

edit: Or nothing. Reel reviewers don't have time to enjoy music.

Alright, I took it out. I kinda like it better without the music too. Nothing new was added just yet. But I do have a couple of projects nearing completion though. You might see them both in a few days.

I can honestly say that I am really looking for a job now. This isn't just speculation. If you have some work for me, or would like to add me to your team, feel free to call.
