I think the best part is the metal teapot and the table top area.

The strong floor and wall pattern is a little distracting though. Also, there's something strange about the lighting. It's daylight out, yet the single, small lightbulb appears to be creating powerful shadows.

Oh, the bathtub texture looks nice, too.

The atmosphere looks kinda weird imo, but other wise I very much like it. Not sure how all that atmosphere stuff works anyway.

o.k...

textures: seem way too uniform - the floor wood texture seems stretched the length of the floor. in a real shack, there would be many different boards with different sizes and textures. same goes for the walls. also, it looks like the table has the same texture with a different color.

lighting: you have sunlight coming in thru the window, but your shadows inside are coming from that tiny, little light bulb. for example, the tea kettle and glass on the table would have shadows in the opposite direction. in reality, the sunlight would override any light inside the shack - and the shadows would be facing away from the window. in fact, that little lightbulb wouldn't even appear lit even if it was on during the day.

that being said, i like the composition, and the modeling - just tweak the textures and the lighting, and you have yourself a good piece. good luck!

Thanks so much for the input mattconway... i had such a hard time lighting this piece.. has any piece... lighting is on of the hardest things to grasp ... i was contemplating just taking the light bulb out and forget it and just leave the light for the window..

Nice scene you've got ther, BUT, as mentioned already, the lightining could need some work. Maybe try hdri lighting from outside and keep the bullb, but turn its light of. Who has a light on during the day, especially in a shack?!
And of course turn on radiosity. I think that would make your scene look more atmospheric...
