Hi. How do i convert a max scene in lws ? Is that possible ? I know modeler can open 3ds files but is it possible to open a max scene in lw ?

No you can't.
Max is the only program that can open .max files.

Nope!!!.... when I made the switch from MAX2.0 to LW 5.6 I quickly came to terms with the fact that to continue my work I would have to export all from MAX (at that time I exported as .3ds) and have to re-do all texturing, lighting, ..well... everything 'cept modeling.
If you do the same, export from MAX as .Obj format and bring it in to LW Modeler and just start over
sorry thats as good as it gets.

Export .3DS from max, preserving Max texture Coordinates
Load it in LW and use 'merge trigon X', as far as LW converts all geometry of 3ds into traingles.
Rebuild what you think LW messed with, and go to surface editor and see that everything is in there.
All textures and surfaces.
But you'll have to play a little. The material editors are diferent. LW imports everything with a self illumination. And you'll lose the textures in non 8.3 name format.
You can find 'merge trigon X' from Flay.com website
btw, you can try 'max2obj' to export your mesh to an OBJ. Here, crashes all the times, but you can try.
LW LOVES OBJ!!!!!
