hi people!

I'm new here, and I have a question to you guys.
I've modeled a car and now I'm trying to texture that. The car is a group of models like chassis, seats, wheels, mirrors.. And the question is, what is the best way to texture that for a game proposes?
I'm using Maya software.

If you want to use it in games, then you are going to need to attach everything together and then make one big uv mesh. Most games only have one 1024 by 1024 texture slot for each thing modeled, so you are going to want to put everything on one texture sheet.

Hello

as above, for a game try to put all textures on to one page(bitmap).
but don't attach everthing just yet, first determine if your wheels or axels are going to move-tilt-rotate whatever. If they are they will need to remain seperate objects, or perhaps the person above was thing you'll be using UV manipulation to make the tires look like they're turning. In which case you'll need to make a seperate wheel texture.

also can you do a half-model map (build right half of car, texture and flip so no need for left half texture), or do you intend to use lighting effects, realtime or burned in, where you will need textures for both side of your car.

if you are using a game engine, check to see what it can do first before you texture.
