I have been thinking since last year if getting Max. Before I do I was wondering if someone can point me in the direction of tutorials that show the very basic for Max. Like what each tool does etc. Beginner tues for modeling etc. Also websites that have a listing of plug ins. Something like flay.com for LW'ers.

www.3dcafe.com is a very good page. There you can find lots of simple tuts and alot of free plugins

Max comes with lots of really good tutorials right out of its F1 help menu.
