I was wondering if anyone could help me out with some advice.

Basically I am very new to 3D architectural visualization and one of the biggest things I am struggling to get my head around is textures and materials.

I have several books for Max but the materials sections are very small in size and only cover the very basics of the topic. The kind of things I want to know is how to get extremely realistic textures, how to create them from scratch, how to make them dirty and scratched, how I would put graffiti on a wall, to name but a few examples.

I just feel I am missing out on a lot and that I’ll never be able to progress much using the small sections I have in my current books.

So with that in mind does anyone know the best way forward for me?

I have looked all over for maybe a book speficially on texturing but alas I haven’t to date.
