View Full Version : "Use Lights," function in max?
westmeadow 03-29-2003, 07:46 PM I have heard that there is a function in maya that allows you to see the sillhouette of the scene at the press of the "7" key. Apparently this is called "Use Lights"?!?!!? Anyways, to the point, is there a fimiliar function in MAX, because this would be so cool in getting them poses right!!
cheers

I'm not a Maya user (one will be along shortly) but this sounds like view alpha...
I'll let the picture do the talking.

Hey Ls3D,
That looks like it could do the trick. I was resorting to a white background and just squinting :annoyed: !! If anybody knows of another way, please post it,
Thanks

both maya and max have default lights in the scene. adding lights override the default lights. in maya, "use all lights" will display the objects as black if there are no lights in the scene or if they are off. in max you can create a light and turn it off to get the same effect.
