Hey

How long have you been animating for?

I think you are trying to run before you can walk to be honest. Dont take this the wrong way because you defo have talent but i just think you need to slow down a little and spend a little more time on the fundamentals.

It is aparent throughout your reel that your weight/timing is just a little off and this becomes even more apparent when it gets to your bouncing ball stuff, which i would take straight off your reel because it does nothing but hurt it. Make things a little easier for your self and take smaller bites. spend more time on each shot you attempt and just think more about poses and stuff.

Please dont take any of this the wrong way tho, because you defo have something and i wouldnt be wasting my time replying to you if i didnt think so.

I think you have a good start here. I would shorten it tho and use only your best stuff.

good luck

I also agree theres a good collection of work here... with a little more polishing this will be some excellent stuff.

Some of the in-between poses happen so fast that the animation looks like it's popping, and breaks the illusion of life. I'd also agree that the ball stuff at the end is the weakest part of the reel - too stiff and rigid. Was it all key-framed or is there some dynamics going on?

Thanks for the feedback guys.

As for your question Kev, I am pretty much a self taught animator. I was exposed to animation at uni but only started doing it more professinaly in the past 4 months or so.

I agree that the reel is not very consistent with the level of animation. It is a progress reel after all.
Thanks to some of your tips, I shortened it and took out the shots towards the end. As one of my peers said to me, they did more damage good.

What would you recommend me to add to the reel in terms of shots?

Thanks for stoping by,
Cheers
