Hi:)

I'm still a beginner when it comes to after effects, and I'm having problems with creating good alpha's with after effects.

I need to create a bunch of animated sprites for a game, but I cant seem to get the transparency's right. I always get an outline around of the sprite the same color as the composition background. Even when i am not using any transparant areas in the sprite i get a 1 pixel outline.

This only happens if I export the sprites (I tried both png and tga), they always look fine in the project composition.

Am i doing something wrong with the exporting?

sorry if this was asked before, but i did a search both in the forums and the after effects manual and couldn't find anything.

thank you
Kam:thumbsup:

Try to set your export alpha setting to straight instead of premultiplyed

Try playing around with the Matte Choker effect (or simple choke)

or

In the Channels effects, I think its called 'Remove Colour Matte', where you can specify the background colour of the original composition and AE tries to mask out the outline.

oh wow, that "remove color matting" thing worked perfectly! thank you very much... I was expecting it to be alot more work.
