Title: Trapped in time
Name: Milos Jovanovic
Country: Serbia
Software: VRay

general idea was to make ageing process, trough time..
the guys that are in top bulb of the hourglass, supposed to look younger..and those ones in the bottom..older..offcourse ..
that's why they are trying to get up to the top.. but it's hard work and i just coldn't go through that tweaking hustle
happy with this result..think i've achieved similar effect!
..::modelled in Cinema4D..rendered in Max-Vray,post work Photo Shop::..
comments are most welcome!

It's a cool idea, but wouldn't it be the younger ones in the bottom bulb (as that's what's already past), and the older in the top (what's yet to come) trying to avoid going through?

On execution, all the figures look the same with no age diff and very stiff in their poses. There's no clear age difference at all. The viewpoint and composition while fine for a standard dull object render lacks any connection or link to the subject matter, it's basically just very dull and very distant. You should try to involve the viewer a little more in your scene, that also goes for the environment which is equally detached and unrelated (it would almost be better to not have a background at all than this decontextualisation). It's a nice render, but just needs some more work to make it stand out visually or graphically (or if you will to convey it's purpose artistically).

Interesting idea :)
The reflections are also cool :)
But somehow I miss a background scene or something like that.
Without it the image looks a bit too empty.
3 Stars.

Woa... very veeeery nice idea, and its a pretty render too, but i agree with most of the critics that Per-Anders mentioned; if you could fix those things this piece could go from "great" to "absolutely amazing".

Anyway, congrats
