hi everyone!

i am trying to set up an netrender network. the problem i am facing is that the render stops after 1 second with the netrender application on the slave pc telling me "stopped render".

so here's what i did:

opened netrender client on slave pc -> entered server ip in respective field.
opened netreder server on server -> message: "new client at ..." so the connection has obvisously been established.

in the ie window i add a new job, upload and hit start. the slave window shows activity only to tell me after a couple of seconds that it stopped.

clues anyone?????

thanx

do you have the firewall turned on?

does NET Server give any errors? (i.e. missing textures etc would stop the job)

do you have quicktime installed on the NET clients?

whoops i didn't notice your answers ebedded in my quote.

yes you may need to turn off the firewall unless you have manually opened the ports for NET Server to talk to NET client

but it seems missing quicktime is probably the issue - NET does use QT for many of it's file formats - unless you happened to choose one that was not inside of QT then it may have worked - so, yes install QT (on both Server and Client)
