I'm gonna call this one finished now even though it's not exactly perfect. Got kinda tired of going back to fix old mistakes since it's my first subdiv model, so this has to be it..other projects await. :)

There's some issues with the tire material wich some nice people pointed out in the wip thread http://www.cgtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=51731 but due to my screwed up monitor I've had some real trouble trying to fix it (can't even see them, pitchblack on my screen. tried to explain in the wip thread). Been running back and forth to friends houses to see whats going on, and try to fix it when home, but I'm pretty far from a level where I would know exactly what a material looks like rendered just by looking at the numbers in the material editor, so if they look like complete crap, my bad, I'll try to fix it when I've gotten myself a new monitor :)

here goes: max5 +brazil and yes the reflections doesnt go along with the lack of environment :)

Sorry bout the nick addition but the "reset password" feature has been screwing me over repeatedly until I got tired of it and re-registered!

i guess that the mesh is almost perfect. But you should give more time to think about the lightning and the composition, the reflection map is not adapted in this case i think. Can you post a wire?

The modelling looks very good but the texturing appears to be letting things down a bit. As Lynx says.. more light .. it's a very grey underlit scene at present. The main body work imho is suffering from reflections that don't make sense in that enviroment, and I'd say kill the specularity... it just screams GC. If you want highlights try using white boxes reflecting in the panitwork. :)

Thanks for the feedback!

I'll concentrate more on lighting when I've bought a new monitor so I know approximately what other people see :)
Right now it's mainly guesstimation since if I lit it after my own monitor you'd probably burn your retinals trying to look at it

Psycholink: I guess that's what you call it..editable poly..I'm not really 'down with the lingo' if you know what I mean ;)

The McLaren F1... it's the car I lusted for since I played Need for Speed II. Where did you get the references, if you don't mind?

woah why is this in the Finished Work section, you're missing an interior. Back to work my friend! :p

Really though, great job on the exterior model. I agree it would look better in a scene, or at least a composition shot.

Interior...... wink wink... :D

Six Black Roses: Started to lust for it when I first tried Need for speed: hp 2 :) wich was a few days before I started this thing..references dug up using google although it wasn't exactly easy finding usable pictures since all F1's I found had small differences from one another
