View Full Version : Displacement mapping with a uvw mapped mesh

I'm not familiar with displacement maps that much. Can I use a displacement map on a uvw mapped mesh? How exactly do I do that? I tried a search but couldn't really find anything about this. Thank you.

yes you can, add a turbosmooth and displace mosifier to your stack and load the bitmap for displacement into the bitmap channel of the displace node... good luck

Thanks for the response DaddyMack, but that didn't seem to work.

A little more about what I'm trying to do. I have a model of a chimney with a stone texture (not much geometry to the chimney itself). I want to use that texture (modified of course) for a displacement map so the geometry isn't so flat. If anyone can help me out I'd appreciate it.
