Hey Ryan it really has a nice , cinematic moody mood, I like it a lot, I agree about vary a little bit in between mountains, some strong foreground fooliage will add a lot of depth and sens of scale . I 'm looking forward to see the final version

Hmmm....thought I updated this. Ah well. thanks for the compliment and the bump. :)

Hopefully, looking better, haven't had too much time to work on this one. If I've strayed some how or lost something down the way, let me know. I can fix anything...hopefully.

looks great but right now it looks more like an illustration rather than a MP (not that this is bad)

I like the idea and the mood actually, the gate looks sketchy or as an illustration ,because everything else is a photo you can tell the difference right away, I would try to create the gate , with 3D assets and then a lot of texturing in photoshop, the torches look very sketchy, they need detail, I think depth and aereal perspective is no good, I would add more , in order to create the effect of depth and scale, it's looking good you just need attention to detail

Update: Let me know if this is working better or go a differnet way or whatever. Still needs work, i.e. the flames and the gate a bit but I think it's working better.

Thanks for the help guys. :)

It has the touch of Peter Ellenshaw, It is painted beautifully Ryan,

I think the stone work looks a little soft almost like a strong water colour painting. It needs to feel heavy have a sense of foreboding. The problem is i dont know how to fix it as i am personally learning as well,

Could jaime or suirebit show us a example on a small area as a paint over just one tiny little area to get the effect they are describing. I think we both could learn something together.

I would end up putting in a vignette or something else just as bad. Or use a shrpen filter on the gate.

Tons of respect, cause this painting reminds me of hiding behind a cushion watching king kong when i was a kid.
