I've been working on this one probably just short of a week. I haven't posted anything at all here in the wip for a few months at least.

This is a themed fae/fairy, the theme being that good and evil are often present in one package, and that the transparency of this fae is an irony to the fact the good and evil aren't always so transparent in reality.

The main problems I can see myself as of now are the shadow below the fae character isn't working, and is not what it would be considering the leaves below, the second issue is that I'm thinking I may need to slightly burn the portion of her legs cloest to the ground to achiev e a realistic shadow, eventhough she is supposed to be transparent.

Any crits are appreciated.~Angela

Ow, that pose looks painful, not humanly possible.. Then again, that fae is NOT human.:)
Oh, and, you can't see what's behind/under the legs like you can with transparent items. That, and how old in "human years" is that fae supposed to be?

Very cool idea as per usual. :scream:

I agree that if she is transparent then you should be able to see through her at least a little bit...I think if you darken the shadow underneath her face (her neck and fade into ches) that It would make the shape of the face pop out more. I would even darken around the hairline in the front to show shadow there because her hair would make some shadows as well.

Actually the pose was from ref in a artistic nude figure book, so it is stragnely enough possible. And I decided to just let her be a lighter near glowing color, instead of transparent. I wasn't happy with what I was getting otherwise.

I only just looked at the comments and I just realized that I'd already done the suggested things. I just added shadowing in the hair and in other areas.

Not sure what else should be added to the BG. Maybe rays of light?

The background is tough...I dont really have any suggestions for the background. I would just play around with some ideas you have and see what appeals to you the most. Maybe a nebula type thing....

What if you added veins and things into her wings...like a mix between a dragonfly and bat. Prob the transparency of a bats wing and then have it fade away at the ends and tips...that could be cool with splotches of shading like you have at the bottom of the wings..

I finished it, and I added some textures to both wings, and the rays of light. The bat-like wing has the veined look while the other has a sort of leaf-like ribbing at the edges.

Thanx for the crit, and comments. I'm happy with this one.
