One thing that bothers me is background ... IMHO it's to flat/non-descriptive ... it should more support your story and ad significant value/emotion to complete image.

Thanks Jason ;), Ive created this character only for the contest ... just for fun, the theme was so cool ! I never think about animate this character. Ive start an other project with friends ,so I will focus all my energy on the animation for Chevisodes project.

The modeling of this character was pretty easy, My only intention was to created a character with a great silouhette, so Ive start with a cylinder, Ive added some detail from the botom to the top in the cilynder, after that, Ive added spline Ik on the body, Ive skin the body on the spline ik. After I take time to find the better silouhette and principal shape of my character for the main pose. Ive continue with head, ears etc...
For the texture, Ive render all principal passes, diffuse, diplace, bump, specular, light kick 1 2 and 3, texture passes, procedural texture , etc... Ive finaly comp everything with photoshop and tweak each passe to find he final look.

How did you make the hair?

Ive done the hair with the hair modifier in 3D studio max 9, add to my character, make choice on the length ,size and all parameter the define the final look, place all hair with the brush tool, add a shader on the fur, add a matte shadow to the character , add one light with shadow casting,press render and thats it ! so thats was pretty simple, add comp this pass at the end to add more detail to the character.
