Title: Arch Viz - Sunny House
Name: Ryan Knopp
Country: USA
Software: Maya, mental ray, Photoshop
Since I'm now working for an Arch Viz company, I thought I should get a little more accommodated with the process. This is a personal piece that I put together over the last couple months a few evenings a week. The sky is a photo. This was completed constructed in Maya, rendered with mentalray, and composited with Photoshop. Feedback welcome!

Very nice!
Textures are a bit saturated, other than that the camera feels slightly fisheyed, perspective looks a little distorted. Maybe adjust the focal length.

Great job man! But I think it would help alot if you would move the camera down, to a height around 5'9". This is how most people view houses and it would make your rendering more believeable. Also you might try playing with some different sun angles... though it might not be completely accurate, moving the sun down will remove all of those distracting shadows and will really create a focal point on the house. You want to create some contrast with the shadows, mainly to show the form.. so also moving it to one side will help. (Like this (http://www.neoscape.com/clients/neoscape/image.asp?picture=http://www.neoscape.com/clients/neoscape/gallery/PARK_ESSEX_NIGHT.jpg&project=Park Essex - Night&location=Boston, MA&award=&architect=ADD Inc.&owner=Archstone Smith&itype=1))
Also, try adding a light in the doorway. The entrance to a building is one of the most important features, and clients alway want to to so it off.
But you did an excellent job and I would love to see what you do next.

Looks really dark in my opinion, the grass in nice, too noisy, it seems like your brick sizes are too big, your roof caps are way too wide they should be the same size all around. I think you have a great start you just need some changes.

Nice work. You are very close here. For some reason you are not getting much bouncing light back up into the house. You might try to increase the radiosity there to more bounces. My biggest issue is the street which doesn't have enough variation in black. At first, I thought nothing was there. I agree with the other suggestions as well. A little fine tuning and this will be super hot.

Great job Ryan. Very nice render. Love the design. I like how the brick reaches the street. I agree, the street looks a bit too clean or black. Tiling on the rook looks great. Nice job.
