Hi,
I'm modelling a candle and I'm trying to get that soft luminance or transparancy at the top wich is evident when it's lit.
I'm hoping somebody can make me a couple of suggestions on how to achieve that.
Thanks,

there are many far better options than SLA for this effect, I would look at chanlum, Vreel luminance or best of all Arndt's Translucent plugin. All three of them work similar ways, require a lightsource with a shadow, and work best in the luminance channel.
Thanks, I tried searching for chanlum a bit but unfortunatly I cannot find it.
I know it's a free shader, now I just need to find it... Can somebody please provide me with a link?
Are the other two options you mentioned also free downloadable?
Thanks much...

hi Kirl,
Arndts Translucent youŽll get from here (http://www.vreel-3d.de/plugins/plugins.html)
cheers,
Gunter
Thanks...!
I managed to find Chanlum also, but in wich folder should I put all these files? I'm still using v7.
I included a picture of my nearly finished candle also, I'm quite happy with it.
Let me know what you think...
