Hi everyone.
Here is a finished extreme low poly environment.
This was actually a winning entry for the last mini game art challenge. I just wanted to put it into a separate thread so that it does not stay only in MGAC section.

This is kinda retro sci-fi interior of some lab somewhere on a far-far planet :)
According to the rules of the challenge, a model should consist of 700 tris maximum.

I decided to make it as a DS level, since costraints r so high.
Lightning is done with hand-painted vertex colors, all textures have 16 colors and r mostly grayscale (except for space texture), and some of them use opacity maps.

Animations done with animated texture UVWs (monitors, energy waves etc.)

Here is some video that I've done : http://www.psychosphere.in/pics/vla..._SciFi_Vlad.zip (http://www.psychosphere.in/pics/vlad/Retro_SciFi_Vlad.zip)

Suggestions and critiques r welcome.

I looked at your video, I like the airlock door with the valve wheel in the middle. If the rest of the room continued in the style of that section, you could give it a very "steampunk" look which would be neat. (Course, that's if you had more polys to work with)

I thought it was awsome. Animated UVs is something I definitely got to begin playing with. Where has the MGAC been? If you one the last one you got to start the next challenge.

It was temporarily stopped so people could work on the UGAC - II. (unofficial game art challenge - II)

thanks for comments people:)

JuddWack, I didn't actually think of that... Yeah, I should probably ask at UGAC thread. I'd like to start new one next time ;)

I still think it was a darned good entry, too!
Maybe my restrictions were too high but I like it to be a real challenge, dag nabbit! At least it wasn't a 16 tri limit like the first MGAC I heard about but never caught in time.

I wouldn't mind seeing you develop the rest of the lab that goes with that room and do a small walkthrough of it. Darned good prototype you've started off with already.
