hello there...:). sharing my recent work, "An eerie spot at mightnight".

i did keep my personal, painterly style, but its quite different from what i usualy post. its a concept i made for a gloomy, mysterious landscape at night. every part has been handled according to the overall feel and look that i was after. the result made me quite satisfied as i did manage to achieve what i had in my mind...:).

painted in photoshop with a hint of painter, on a (scanned) sketch, from my mind, that i did on paper first. i used tablet to paint it later.

it was real fun drawing and painting this and i hope u all enjoy it.

P.S. ive kept it dark as per the requirements of my concept (night/dramatic). did introduce, position ligts (sources) and their effect, only revealing things that were needed to be lit, adding to the mystery of the overall scene that i opted for.

excellent:thumbsup: !....i agree with the others, the colours used are indeed beautiful and your treatment of the lighting (that purplish glow...spooky:eek: ) definitely evokes the haunted look. i especially love the glow from the windows (to me...the yellow glow blances the colour scheme nicely, and its brillance sets it as the focal point of the illustration.....well done:thumbsup: !). The wispy clouds, the crooked trees and winding path, all conrtibute to the abondoned houes look....very Monster House-ish...:D lol .....i ,for one, really enjoyed it and can't wait to see more:scream: !

Very different from what I usually look at, but this has a real appeal for me that I cant put my finger on. I think you handled the lighting extremely well! I really enjoyed this. I dont usually spend so long looking at one piece, but I couldn't take my eyes off it!
One thing I would say is that the trees shadows don't properly correspond to the position of the moon, but perhaps you took artistic licence there so that the tree shadows could add to the eerie feeling.
Nice work anyways, I really enjoyed it. 4* from me.

You know I love the palette you used. Golden and violet are always beautiful to see together, especially when so perfectly used.
I agree with Ghotire, it's beautiful to see this change in style but so well managed !
