Hi,

When I rendering using sorenson 3 at highquality the file size is 600 megs. When I lower the quality it looks terrible and the file size is still very big. The wmv or divx versions have much higher quality and smaller sizes.

So I am trying sorenson squeeze with a 7.8g uncrompressed file but it always hangs at 99%??

Anyone know why sorenson is hanging?

And what format in the quicktime codecs is uncompressed? I was going to try a quicktime uncompressed version instead of the uncompressed avi.

The uncompressed or no compression maybe?

It's hard to say anything about your Sorensen problem, ask their support. Posting your settings like bitrate etc would make it easier to advise, 'lowering the quality' isn't much information.

try keyframe interval of 15 and max the kbs limit to 450 and try again... quality is not the important factor when you use sorenson in after effects... it took time to figure out though...
just change those preset until you get good weight/quality ratio.

ps: wmv is always better and will keep your color intact for a fraction of the weight... sadly! I wish apple give us back good qt integration like before 6.5...

Sorry I'm blind lol. I found the uncompressed quicktime format and rendered that out. Sorenson Squeeze renders without crashing with the quicktime version. What settings should I use in sorenson squeeze? My animation is 4min 45 sec long at 640x480. I have seen alot of reels on cg talk that are close to this length with good quality and they are only 20-30megs.

When I turn keframing on and try to render with the settings you suggested after effects gives me an error.

oh yea i forgot to ask. What sound compressor should I use? The defualt in sorenson squeeze is mpeg but after effects doesn't have it and the ones on the list don't look familier. thanks
