Apologies if this is known issue- I'm really new to Zbrush. What's happening is that as I move my mesh between lightwave and Zbrush 3, the base mesh is getting smoother and smoother all by itself- like some subtle softening is being applied automaticly- beyond the changes I am intentionaly making. No new geometry is added, just a general move along the normals toward the 'spherical'.

I'm hopping back and forth between the two apps, and cutting the object in half to re-establish symetry each time ( lightwave's a bit touchy on symetry) Is this a known thing- or am I doing something dumb?

if you are making your base mesh in lw....export to zb. then, go to tools, morph target, and hit the storemt button. then, do what you need to do in zb...raise the sub division levels as far as you like. when you want to export it back to lw...go down to level 1 and go to mt...and hit switch. then, export it back to lw and it should be exactly as it was.

Thanks Poppi,

At leastI know I'm not going mad :) It really threw me that my lovingly sculpted creation was slowly turning into area 51 alien.
