Hi, im just starting to delve into the texturing aspect of 3D and I think I recall being able to map UVs of 1/2 my character, and then mirroring them over to the other half, considering the model is symetrical. If so, where can I find this operation cuz I couldnt find after searching within Maya's help utility. Thanx

mirroring the poly object will only duplicate the Uvs....this is handy for conserving texture space....so when you mirror...make sure the Verts are not merged and then select the UV shell so it will only select the mirrored half and not both halves(convert to faces) and use the FLIP UVs....

if you have only one half of the model ...unwrapping the UVs then copy the poly in -1z ,then combine ,, it should work ..you should have only one side of your model iif you look in the UV texture editor
