View Full Version : newbie major..
waterhycinth 03-28-2003, 01:25 AM Hi I'm a very newbie to Wings 3D but I finally read a two part tutorial at renderosity listed in the Tutorial thread here that someone posted... I think it's the forth one down... So I read it and did it and I thought it was a very good tut and so I went playing in Wings and I came up with this... It's rendered in Cinema 4D also...
I could use a lot of tips for it but also it's just a play file so if you would like to have the model I would be glad to give it to anyone for free because well, it's not really that good...he he
here it is:

i would bevel those edges if I were you. And the back of the model looks messed up.
but hey... a few more moves, extrudes, bevels, scales, some tweaking, and voila, you will be flying... Wings is fun eh?
Keep going, move those poly's and sculpt those surfaces... the more times you do it the easier it becomes... once things become somewhat automatic, well, then anything is possible... :)
Have fun eh...

thanks for the replies yall, I think I will use a picture of some binoculars when I go and work on it some more... The model I did was just from memory (not that good) of how binoculars looked like... back to work :applause:

ok I went back and read some more tutorials and practiced more. I didn't really like the binoculars after I submitted them so I haven't continued to work on them. As I was reading tutorials I come across a link to the User Manual from like Nov 6 I think. Anyways, in that there are tutorials which I think are great for the beginner so far. I just got done with the first tutorial and here's my results...
The tutorial was about how to make a dog house.
Here's mine:
