It's been a really long time since i last posted on here. So now it's your turn to give me a hard time instead :)
Just kidding.

Well i never saw many good undead stuff on here, so i started modeling a zombie. Then someone did post one and i kinda lost interest. (maybe it was Hiko, i cant' remember) But i finished it up anyway.

it was done in maya and render time is under 2 min.

great image, the DOF works quite nicely.

Only crit is there is basically no specularity. Since he is a zombie with lots of flesh and blood, i would have thought there would have been lots of shiny parts, at the moment there is no shiny blood or flesh at all.

His teeth are awfully white

and zombies are usually more disoriented in the eyes + decayed (maybe no eyes at all for a fright)

Pretty good :)

I think it could be a bit more ruff in the textures (bump) also less stretching, and perhaps a bit more gemetry in some areas.

Here is a bit of an update.

I can see what you mean about the teeth and the eyes. But i'm not sure about adding more detail. I create characters for the point of animating them, and it's not fun if i spend all my time just waiting on my computer to chug along. So i try to keep it somewhat resonable.
I wanted the skin to look sort of dried out (hence being dead for so long) so i kept the highlites to a minimal. But i did tweak it some more.

Also, this is what the whole model looks like.

Neil good job ... but I think you are missing one point... remember that zombies are dead bodies and the body become purple really quick if the blood is not running thru the body, I suggest some changes in the color of the skin, adding some more purple, blue, anddark red to the composition of the skin, also when the body in that stage of descomposition from time to time youll see broken skin and rotten as well ... also the collar bone is too clear, put more blood on it, dark blood, and some pieces of skin...
In the eye ball area in my personal opinion, you should put some red and purple veins... remember all red should be dark, like when the blood get rotten (coagulated)

Good Luck ! :airguitar

Great DOF, great lighting, great model. But your textures don't do it justice. Give the textures as much time as you do the model. Then you will have an absolutely great piece.

Bram: Nice link. Those zombies have a really cool style.

Ok, i will rework it some more, just have been too busy. Maybe this would look better if i had mentalray or something like that.
