View Full Version : God Rays
funkymartian 08-03-2007, 12:15 AM Hi,
I was wandering if there is a way in Adobe After Eeffects to create God Rays without a plugin. I have Adobe After Effects CS3, in the Production Premium.
The scene is an architectural apartment complex in development. When the camera fades into the scene, I was hoping there was a way to have some type of "God Rays" onto the building. I want to do it After Effects instead of 3ds Max, this will save me some time.
Thank you for any advice.

From memory there is a CC effect called CC Light streak or something similar. Have a look in your effects panel and you should find it. Should allow you to create streaks of light when applied to your sky layer assuming it has clouds or a sun or similar on it.

The Shine plugin would be best for this situation.

Shine would be best, but CC Light Streak will do just fine like the otehrs said.

Hey Funkymartian, i tinkered around with some settings and used two effects, duplicate footage, on the top layer I used radial Blur and Light Burst, then change layer to screen, hope this helps you.
