First of all: Welcome to this forum
And second: What a great way to introduce yourself with this model! This swat-character looks excellent.
The details and the cloth-like material give it an authentic look.
I can't think of a single comment except that I find it a shame his left arm is hidden behind his body.
Got another angle render?
Keep rockin'
Cheers.

yeah I gotta chime in...thats a wonderfull model..well made, I would love to see a low res mesh if possible,
I dont really like the textures now...very rubbery (but man that model rocks)
if you did some nice texturing/lighting...this would be an amazing peice.

Totally sweet!!! :applause:
That's a GREAT model! Very nicely done, excellent details! Fantastic work
I think that some of the textures are a little shiney, like the boots, but that is pretty minor. Some of the textures could also do with a wee bit more detail, like the pants and that light brown part of the holster, but otherwise, they seem fine. The knee pads in particular look cool!
With regards to the modelling, I think it's mostly excellent, but I do feel that the hands might be a little too small. But since you mentioned that you are still working on them, I assume that you will be fiixing that.
I also think the upper torso is sliiiiiiiightly too long and also quite a bit too narrow. Especially since he is wearing a heavy bullet-proof vest which is usually pretty thick, he should be a lot wider in that area, in my opinion.
Welcome to the forum  Your work kicks ass!

I've already praised this model throughout its conception, so I'll just shut up and let the post stand as my continued approval of this damn cool model :D

Wow... the quality of those textures, and the level of detail in that model, is great! my only critique is that he looks a bit skinny (stretched out) ....Im sure SWAT officers have to pass a rigorous fitness test, and he looks like he cant even lift 150lbs. :hmm:
(it could be his shoulders arent wide enough? I dunno...)
Cheers!

Lovely model! Only minor criticism would be the Fritz helmet is a little narrow and sits a tad high over the glasses. But lovely work, great stuff. Love to see him with an MP5SD with aimpoint!

Well I don't think that it's a problem here. Firstly the clothes may make him look skinny (the volume of the clothes and equipment is quite big) and secondly my friend is very skinny, weights 60 kilos and lifts 105kg laying on the bench...
I think that the proportions are good and it's an awesome model!

wow, very intriquite model, and great textures!
btw, SWAT officers are not army rangers or SEALS in terms of physical fitness. They don't have to be extremely fit :) If you ever caught an episode of that one time reality series Combat Missions that was on USA for a bit, you would have seen how unfit the SWAT were :D

Great comments ppl!! :buttrock:
About the proportions, I'm still not sure.. I don't want some kind of Hero look, he's just an ordinary SWAT officer, not He-man. But I will look into it.
About the textures,... I basically scanned in bits of fabric and used that as a base, made it tileable, positioned it out across the UV map, put in stitches where needed, and added a few creases in the there. Its all mostly phong shaders, with a subtle specular map, and bump... the hard work is really lighting it, and getting the right shade of black.
I hope the lighting will fall into place once I get the environment in there...
