Anyone catch the ending of the CGChannel article that says Arnie Cachelein has joined Luxology. Fairly significant, it would seem, if it's true.

Looks like they have the complete Dev team from the 5.0 /6.0 days. As CgChannel article states Siggraph will tell

So is that why I love 5.6 so much ???

LOL me too :). I have many scenes that render faster in 5.6 than 7.5. (e.g. 20sec on 5.6 and 26sec on 7.5)...

Wow, I wouldn't have thought it would take some of the best engineering brains on the planet as well as a truckload of other people just to develop a web site that lets people share some lightwave presets!! Your investors must be rubbing their hands together with all of the money you are making Luxology!

Seriously though, they better be working on something pretty special to try and hype themselves this much, otherwise they are just going to look stupid...

Before anybody invest's money they know exactly what the plan is. You would not draw that experience without having a pretty stable and clear vision.

Yeah wmendez, it's me. Have I worked with you in the past?

My Steamer page STILL gets lots of hits even today.

I'm here now: http://www.maasdigital.com

(and still a proud user of LW 5.6. I don't like the later versions :)

whatever it is they are working on better stomp the hell out of Softimage, Houdini, Maya, LightWave, Brazil, and G2 combined to be worth anything.

Let's hope it's something good which will change the way we work in 3D...cause if it's just another 3D app that does cool stuff like all the others, what is the point...

Who wants to start laying bets on how much their little app will cost?

My hunch is somewhere in the ballpark of $10,000.00USD. I hope they have better service in their future after Siggraph then they did in the LW 5.5 days if ya know what i mean. :)
