Hey guys!

I was modeling a friends head and I'm pretty much done. However, I am deciding on the hair and wanted to get some advices. I was using a solid shape for the hair(low polygon), but there is another way to model the hair by making each individual nurbs for the hair( high polygon??).

so my question to you guys, as a Game Art student, what kind of hair should I be practicing and modeling? Flat shapes or string by string?

any other suggestion would be great!

thanks

as a game-art student you should be creating models with a specific game engine in mind. Then you can study how that particular engine deals with hair.

I dont think you should be using nurbs or single strands of polys on your game mesh, some people use hair plugins on their high res models and swap them for alpha planes on the low res
