brender 08-02-2007, 04:30 AM does it matter what 3d modeling program you have to get better results?like could i person useing blender get better modeling results if he use 3ds max for example?

nope, anyone can produce good quality work no matter what the app. now as far as tools and workflow 3d max may be faster or have more tools than blender but in the end its all going to be the persons skills as a modeler making a good model or bad model no matter what the application.

Yeah, as long as they have the basic tools, you can get the same quality as any other modeling software. The tools in other programs, like davijin said, can just make it a little faster to produce similar results. Quality is mostly determined by how well the user can use a specific program, their skill at modeling, and their attention to detail IMO.
Personally, I've used both Blender and 3ds Max. Having used Blender for a bit longer, I preferred modeling in Blender over Max for most situations; the only times I went back to Max was when I wanted to take advantage of the modifier stack. Now, I use Maya, but I can go back to Blender and achieve the same results, even if it takes a little more time.
