It's a great tutorial! I built Mia using the tutorial (the female character in the picture):

The only thing that didn't transfer across very easily (and you can probably see it in the image) is the creasing of edges that you can do in Max. You may be able to do that if you build it as a subdivision model.

there is no joan of arc tutorial for maya , the steps on the max one are simple enough to follow if you are a bit advanced in maya , i modelled mine in all polys , i know the face aitn too good , thats something i have to work on , i would like to texture and animate these but no time , maybe someone else does? anyways here they are 2 versions :

I used that tutorial for the body of the character that I am finishing up now. I thought that it was pretty easy to follow and I am happy with the results, although I wish I wouldve known about the good english translation one at the time instead of using the google translated one...heh. Oh well. I think I learned considerably about the body creation process with that tut.

wow cool. I dindn't know that other people were trying to do this tut in Maya.
do you know that one tut with the head(the guy with the big upper lip and isnt human.) well that was my first go at modeling. I never finished it or even got close, but it inspired my modeling future. and that was a few weeks ago. I started the Joan of arc tut just yesterday and I already to the neck.
I hate myself for going over a year and not even trying.:annoyed:
you guys are pretty good. but from the looks of it the head is going to be the hardest(no offense) it is just the way they do it. it is kinda strange to me.
but hey rayfusion, you did the all of the clothing and hair perfectly as in the tut(great job) except for the half skirt but that doesnt lower the quality.
and you even made your own wardrobe. sweet

yeah i didnt like the workflow used in the tut , where they build poly by poly , instead i used a sub-d cube and modelled the head out of that , well the skirt is different because i did not want that long skirt to cover the detail i made in the legs , i learned alot from this tut and i recomend it to all if you are just beginign in maya or a seasoned pro , the second version i made is going to be a biker girl for a scene im building ,now only if i could get this rig to work ;)
