Hi,
I would like to use this thread to get some feedback on my demo reel which I am currently making.

Demo Reel 2007 (13.2 MB DivX) (http://bluesplinearts.de/WIP/DemoReel/test_audio_640.avi)

I am a CG hobbyist doing CG in my spare time. Unfortunately I've lost my job a few month ago and for some strange reason I am not able to find a new job in the field I am educated in (I am a microbiologist).

So I would like to extend my job search to the CG field and therefore I am preparing this demo reel.

So please feel free to post some critiques and comments.

Well my one main tip for you woud be to focus more on one thing. Something I keep hearing from my teachers is to take one aspect of 3-D that you like and make a kick ass demo reel based on that one aspect.

Divisions mainly inclue:
Animation
Character Artist
Environment Artist

Things like that. Trying to do all of it streches your initial skills thin, and produces a mediocricy feel if your a begininer, at least, thats what I hear. It seems decent so far, but I suggest what I said, focusing on 1 thing and making it rock.

Thank you very much for your reply Reece.

I think the one think I like most is modelling environments and props. So I will focus on that.

Would it be OK to make a little animation like the one of my airship in the beginning of my reel or better stay with 360° renders?
