View Full Version : Horizon Line
Tierackk 03-27-2003, 07:03 PM You know when you see those horizon line pictures in which you can see the curve of the earths surface? Is it possivle to recreate that effect without bending the objects in the scene. Its not possible to change the shape of a fluid container (other than rectangular/cube). so is it possible to do so by a camera technique?

There is a trick that I've seen that is used to create a fish eye lens effect that may help. What you do is point the camera in the opposite direction of your shot and point it at a partial sphere which is totally reflective (you will need to make sure you use raytracing). It will curve the image based on the curvature of the 'lens' or sphere.

Even better...and quicker...
Do it in post with a 2D distort in your fave compositing tool.
Quick. dirty. and simple..
Just like me. :D
