Hi!
This is my first challenge :)
My idea is to combine a very serious job with an "unserious" one to create a very strange person: judge/clown.
So why is the judge appearing in court like this?
Is he working part time as a clown and forgot to remove his makeup on his way to court?
Is this guy going completely insane?
Is it comic relief day at the court house?
Is this person going to send me to the gas chamber for my parking violation?
Who knows.

Added some details to his face.
It's hard to stay awake while listening to liars in court :)
It's looking great man. I imagine you could do something really cool with this concept. I'll be checking in often so, no slacking off. =)

Did some more details and colors.

You did a great job on these colors, and the mood in general, I like it! One thing you might want to try is open his right eye just a little bit, so that it's not completely closed. Right now, it looks a little bit like if one side of his face was sleeping while the other one is listening to a boring case or something.
Well, good luck for this challenge! I'll keep an eye on this one. :)

I was thinking about opening the eye a little bit but then I got lazy and didn't, but now that you mentioned it I will try it. :)
Thanks!

I am following your work, and this is turning nicely. If i may say very "serious" idea, right to the center.
Keep up good work

Yep same thing, great work, nice feeling of paint on his face.MAybe just that in the middle of the pic the black's and whites seems a bit less contrasting as before when you didn't do the clown mask yet.The greys dominate.Just a though ofcourse.Great work again and cheers man!

Thank you all for your nice comments!
Jan: She says hello to you too :)
Remko: Yes, maybe you're right, I think I'll work a bit on the contrast overall a bit later.

Great idea, and great talent you have!
I'll be watching your work :D
I love the serious/unserious mix,
I would like to see more about this, maybe in addition to the clown face,
just some things like bored books, candies, a lonely flower on his suit.. don't know.
Maybe one of those funny judge wigs and glasses! ejej
Just my ideas, you can skip them, jejej
Keep going!

Thanks adrixwha!
I've been thinking about adding more things to him, but I don't want to make him too much of a clown. We'll see.
The funniest thing to me is the horn, imagine when he gives his verdict and punch that horn: BEEEHEEEP! :)
Speaking of clowns, I just got the biggest pimple on my nose, and I'm 34 years old! I look like this clown now!
This turned out to be a selfportrait :(

Ok, time for an update.
The desk was a bit too clean. First I thought that his name should be there, but then I thought he might have the case drawn out to him on a paper, or perhaps it's his own doodles about possible verdict.
Any feedback on that?
Hey Tom, nice update!! really cool mate!! I think you need to put a pen over the paper or beside ( a funny pen :D ), only a comment:) Great work mate!!

I thought the doodles on the paper made the image a bit silly, so I put a law book to cover it up a bit, although I kept the hangman.
The judge thinks very highly of himself so he added "I am" on the law book.

I guess I'm gonna call this one final.
So I finished my first challenge :)
Thanks for your comments!
I have to give it a background too, well here goes:
Judge Henry Lloyd Hatchet became insane during his last decade of serving justice. He would sometimes appear in court wearing clown makeup to lighten things up, as he used to say: "bad news is best served with a laugh", and: "one man's joy is another man's death penalty".
Since he was appointed for life, nobody could remove him from his duties. The last attemt to get Hatchet removed from his office due to mental health ended with an attourney being sentenced to 7 years in prison for being a communist, and after time served to be deported to Finland(where they wouldn't take him).
He now lives on a fishing boat on international waters outside Greenland.
Not until Hatchet accidentally sentenced himself to prison did his career end.
Here's part of the transcript of his last trial:
Judge: I hereby sentence me to life in prison without possibility of parole.
Defendant: Excuse me your honor, did you just say "I sentence ME to life in prison, meaning yourself?
Judge: No, I said "I sentence thee..."
Defendant: Can we take a look a the transcript?
Judge: I'll be damned! well, my word is the law. I guess I'm going to jail.
Defendant: Does this mean I'm free to go?
Judge: How the hell do I know, I don't work here anymore.
Henry Lloyd Hatchet now spends his twilight years at a mental institution where he makes miniature guillotines out of paper.
