Hi,

my name is Georg Duemlein.

I compiled my Technical Houdini Reel:

A shotbreakdown is available here: http://www.preset.de/reel/

I'd like to gain experience as a technical director in the feature film and visual effects industry.

Since 1994 I've done various jobs in the area of vfx, such as compositing, rotoscoping, particles, effects, modeling, shading and TD for local studios . First based in Munich, then Weimar and Vienna and now in Muenster.

I worked with 3dsMAX for more than 10 years - but I became interested in a more procedural approach.
Houdini seemed be so different. Initially I taught myself how to use it, but I wanted a stable foundation to build on, so I decided to take courses at Garman's Visual Effects Academy.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Cheers!
Georg

I've seen a bunch of your posts for the past while, and the stuff you pump out is always so cool! The rolling cube changing the colors of the ground is really neat, actually everything was neat haha. Well deserved 5 stars.

Nice to see it online as one :) still very impressed by the capability of houdini. especially the growing cubes are neat! iŽd REALLY have to think how to do that with max particles e.g.

Seing Georg switching from max to houdini was/is always fun. He has great ideas! Damn i really should start over learning new stuff too :D

kindest regards,
Anselm

thanks for your replies!

Houdini makes it sometimes simple to do complex stuff. I went for basic tasks first to learn and understand the paradigm of the application. And most advanced effects aren't much more than a lot of simple things put together.

switching from max to houdini was/is always fun.
I don't like to see me as a "switcher" both applications have their pro's and con's. It depends on the target audience.

i really should start over learning new stuff too :D
yea it pays to take your time.
I am looking farward to see your box#3 version of the growing particles.!
