Something thats been bugging me is that when i want to navigate round an object with the tools in the top right of the viewport. Why cant i lock onto that button so my mouse pointer stays where it is?
When i move around the mouse i am limited by the size of my screen. So when pushing the pointer up to the top i am severly limited on the distance.

Because you have Graphic Tablet enabled in your preferences.

Ah i see, yeah i do have a graphcs tablet connected, i wasnt's aware it screwed up the viewport navigation lol.
Probably enabled it while testing out Body Paint.
Thanks. :)

Why not just hold down the 3 key for rotation and then mouse/pen away to your hearts content? I also use a wacom for most operations in C4d/PS/AE

Yep, navigation hotkeys are really super intuitive and although I am really not a shortcut guy (I rather clutter my interface with buttons then remembering all that key shortcuts...hehe) there are a few that make life so much easier as I use them everyday, everyone should use them.

key "1" + LMB for moving cam
key "1" + RMB for zooming cam

key "2" + LMB for zooming cam
key "2" + RMB for changing FOV/FL of cam

key "3" + LMB for rotating cam along xy-axis
key "3" + RMB for rotating cam along z-axis

key "9" for live selection in any tool without actually changing tools

these I always use. I also use some other but only occasionally when I think of it. :)

I always use the navigation with alt+LMB,MMB and RMB and I am fine with it. what I do not like is the fact that when I zoom I am limited to the screen borders. when I hit one screen Border, the zooming stops and I need to navigate my mousecursor onto the viewport again and so on. Because of the fact that sometimes zooming is very slow (the distance change I mean, not performance) IŽll have to do that very often to zoom in or out where I want. A solution where the mousecursor stays in Place while zooming would be cool.
