View Full Version : Clothilde anomoly
justinm 07-31-2007, 03:17 PM Can anyone help me? I have uploaded a file which is an animated pair of curtains that open fast and come to a gradual standstill in 30 frames. That is until I last tried to use the file when the animation behaved very strangely and what I am seeing does not correspond to the timeline. Anyway, if anyone has any idea as to why this is happening I would be very glad to hear from you,
Justin.

Hello
maybe dont scale the object once the cloth tag has been aplyed.
You could move the object instead of scale.
Greeting
I think your problem is that, like yves30 stated, you're scaling your object to create the movement. Clothilde doesn't quite work that way. I made an example to show you the basic setup, but instead of fixing the top points and scaling the whole curtain, create a belt object, much like a rod for your curtain to be attached to and belt the top points of the curtain to the "rod" and animate that instead. Clothilde will dynamically transfer the motion from the rod to the curtain.
Hope that helps:)

Thanks. I just tried a quick test moving the object instead of scaling and ended up with the same problem. The curtains seem to want to return to their original position. The baffling thing is that until recently this animation worked fine and without any interference it's gone completely wrong.
