View Full Version : need help with photoshop painting

I am painting a picture in photoshop with a girl on it and this girl has really long hairs. painting the girl is not the problem. but i dont know how to draw the hair of her. can somebody please help me on how to do that? is there any good technic? would be gret if somebody can help me :)

Long, short or curly doesn't make much difference. Hair still has geometric shape and is influence by perspective, volume and light just like everything else.
When you're working on hair don't concentrate on the individual strands at first. Blur your vision and look at the simple forms of all the hair combined. Block in these shapes roughly concentratinig on where lights and darks are. Large areas of hair will be opaque, thin areas will be transperant.
Once you have that down you can then use more refined brushes to add details.
