Been working on this piece just as a development process for my Photoshop painting and maybe as a portfolio piece if it comes out good enough. 7"x5" at 300dpi.

This is what I've got so far. Going to make the slug monster very slippery looking and probably darker than he is atm, perhaps with some sort of skin patterning (spots or something). Also want a lot of nasty yellowish drool all over his face and splatterint down the soldiers arm, etc. The beastie is also going to have a bunch of little two clawed arms down both of his sides, one of which is grabbing the soldiers leg.

Looking for any sort of suggestions/comments/critiques on any part of the piece really. But I'm especially trying to focus on achieving a good painterly feel to the piece, I'm particularily pleased with how the armor has turned out so far.

Thats cool. When it first popped up and started to load I thought I was looking at a Rancor from SW, lol. The soldier is great, you gave feeling to him. The only critique I really have is that the gun/hand is a little to vertical and he's not holding it right. Its like he's holding it between his palm and fingertips.

A second opinion may be needed on the soldiers forehead being so forward. With it being a WIP I assume it may be shadow?

Thanks for the input DeusEx. You were dead on about the gun, it looks much better now, those gray swatches will be the bottom side pointed towards the viewer. Here's a tiny update, filling more in.
