I'm not sure if I'm totally done. I like the flow right now but I'd also like to add some variance in stars and perhaps a galaxy formation in the future. For now though the piece is done. All of this work is totally original, so please base and provide your opinions off of that. Thanks for your time!

P.S. The native resolution is 3840x2400.

Of course you can.. haha Let's see. The stars. Ok, you already said you're gonna add more. That's good. But don't forget about the depth.. right now I can see you only used two (or maybe three) layers of stars.. with the back one being way too regular. Add more diffuse groups of barely visible stars, and also a few shiny ones (to the brightest you can even add a little glow)
The planet and the moon are beautiful. But what's the blueish/greenish cloud on the right half? an Aurora? a Nebula? To me, it looks like something produced by the solar wind (Aurora)... but it's obviously out of the planet's atmosphere, so it's not very likely. I dunno.. if you give more information about what were you trying to do, maybe I can help you better there.
Keep it going. It's looking pretty neat so far. (:

Google for Greg Martin. He's an amazing digital painter of celestial entities like this. He used to have some tutorials you might be able to find somewhere on the net.

I think your nebulas are too whispy, they lack a real sense of substance and depth. They're made out of floaty particles just like clouds so they could be shaded more in that manner. It would lend added depth to the piece as a whole and help build up some scale for your planets as well. You've got a good eye for light, expecially on the large planet and it will really be nice to see that carried through the rest of your piece.

Hi there

You may look at greg's tutorial (http://web.archive.org/web/20040110005213/gallery.artofgregmartin.com/tuts_arts/making_a_star_field.html) how already mentioned. A planet tutorial can be found here (http://web.archive.org/web/20031204142726/gallery.artofgregmartin.com/tuts_arts/making_a_planet.html). Be sure to check out his walkthroughs which you can found here (http://web.archive.org/web/20031204144227/gallery.artofgregmartin.com/tuts_arts/riven_walkthrough.html)

Good luck and keep us up to date :)

Updated. I took some of you advice into consideration and I think it looks much better than before.
